Inspiration
Every custom-made piece of jewelry starts with an idea. From this idea, we discuss design structures, colors and measurements. We can then produce a sketch and a price quote.

Computer-Aided Design
Most of the custom jewelry we make today is built using a complex computer program. The program can produce a realistic picture of what the finished piece will look like. This is called a rendering.

3-D Printing
After the custom piece has been digitally designed and the renderings have been approved by the customer, a plastic version of the ring is grown on our 3-D printer.

Casting
After the 3-D model has been approved, the piece is then cast in a precious metal. The piece of jewelry is now a raw casting, ready to be shaped and polished into a finished piece.

Completion
After the raw casting has been produced, a skilled jeweler completes the final steps of the custom making process. After several hours of effort, a custom crafted piece of jewelry is ready to be presented to the customer.

Our story
1969
When he was only fourteen, Arney Guess began working on gold in his dad's basement in Red Bank, Tennessee. This father-and-son duo worked on dental pieces
1980
Arney began turning precious metals into jewelry
1987
This led him to eventually begin a business of his own
1997
Arney hired an additional jeweler and began renting space in a strip center in the busier part of town
2009
We moved into a 1947 house and converted it into a cozy workshop and store combination
Today
Today we are fully staffed with 7 jewelers on site, making us the most equipped and capable repair shop in Chattanooga
